Two Years Post-Dobbs: Where We Are Now in the Fight for Preborn Life

Earlier this year, a woman and her boyfriend came to Choices to verify her pregnancy and get abortion information. She knew that if she stayed pregnant, she would lose her job. Her boyfriend didn't want her to have an abortion. This was their first baby. Upon having a FREE ultrasound at Choices Clinic, they found out that she was 3 months along; a month farther than she thought! Through the compassion, education, and support they both received from the Choices staff, THEY. CHOSE. LIFE! 

Last year (2023), 22 moms who were initially considering abortion when they came to Choices, changed their mind and chose life! So far this year, TWENY-TWO moms have already turned from abortion and chosen life! We are so thankful they are finding us and coming in so we can show them their babies with a FREE ULTRASOUND and share truth in love.

Choices Clinic of Laurel has always and continues to exist to educate and empower women and families to choose life for their preborn children. We are a 501c3, Christian non-profit medical clinic with 5 nurses on staff. Our nurses also serve as client advocates as they confirm pregnancies and educate mothers and fathers on their TRUE pregnancy choices. We emphasize the reality that life begins at conception and that abortion only leads to physical and emotional detriment for the mother and death for the child.

Our goal is to get to know them and share Christ's love with them. We want them to know that they have support through this pregnancy journey. Through our Empowerment Program, moms are able to earn points for baby items by completing in-person and online classes. Baby items are donated by local churches and individuals, and become invaluable blessings to our moms.

In the wake of the overturning of Roe v. Wade, we have faced many questions of whether abortions are still happening in Mississippi, whether we are still seeing abortion-minded women, and if our mission and services are still the same. The answer to all of these questions is "YES!".

There are over 80 known websites who are selling abortion pills and shipping to all 50 states within a few days. Women don't have to travel out of state to obtain abortion. They receive the pills in their mailbox and the abortion clinic is now their home bathroom. The danger this poses to women is terrifying.
